Question by Bodrum Resort Guide: How do you add your blog RSS feed to directories?
I use wordpress for my blog and have a long list of RSS Directories that I want to add my feed to.

I think the adress is http://www.mysite.com/feed/rss

So, do I just go there and add this to their directory?? Is there anything else I need to do?
Also, once submitted, do I need to keep repeating this or it is automatic and they get notified with my new posts.

Thanks for your help.Much appreciated

Your wordpress feed would look something like *site.com*/feed/.

There’s two things you can do, PING you rss feed and submit to RSS feed directories. Not sure how worthwhile it is, but could bring you some hits.

What do you think? Answer below!

In wordpress.org blog, it enables you to automatically pinging those rss feed directories whenever you post an article. So you don’t need to go those sites one by one. Just add the list to update settings in admin page.

But be careful with pinging as if you do it too much, your blog can be banned from those RSS directories. Thanks God there is a plugin which can control those pinging process. It is called cbnet ping optimizer plugin.

You can submit the URL to the RSS feed directories/search engines. Here is a huge list of places you can submit to http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm
